Her Story

Sheetal (Schneider) Cross is a South African journalist with an extensive print media portfolio, spanning all genres of news reporting for the Durban arm of Independent Newspapers since 2005.

She wrote one of the oldest sports columns in the country, known as SPORTMatters, for the Sunday Tribune — previously SPORTFolio, a 31-year-old platform at the time of the handover. The column has highlighted the achievements of women in sport, creating sponsorship opportunities for underprivileged athletes with little or no financial support.
